Andrea Townsend attended Texas A&M University and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2000. She then graduated from the Texas Tech School of Law in 2003. Throughout her career as an attorney, Andrea has worked as an Assistant District Attorney in multiple counties throughout the North Texas area, including the Grayson County Attorney’s Office, Ellis County District Attorney’s Office, Denton County District Attorney’s Office, and Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. Andrea handled thousands of criminal cases as a prosecutor, with offenses including driving while intoxicated, assault, sexual assault of a child, stalking, aggravated robbery, and murder. While in Denton County, Andrea was a member of the Family Violence prosecution unit. She also worked in the Special Victim’s Unit of the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, managing cases involving elderly, disabled, or child victims. Andrea is originally from Muenster, a small town north of the DFW Metroplex. She now lives in Fort Worth with her husband and son. They like spending time with family and enjoy many local parks and museums. Andrea and her family are members of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
