Gary K. Springstead is a former FBI Agent and criminal defense attorney defending clients in state court in Michigan and federal courts throughout the United States. In federal court, Mr. Springstead defends clients accused of a wide variety of crimes. This includes white collar crimes such as health care fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud and mail fraud, embezzlement, bribery and kickback schemes; drug charges that include drug conspiracies and possession with intent to distribute control substances; murder-for-hire; RICO and gang-related charges; computer crimes; and sex crimes.
In state court, Mr. Springstead defends misdemeanor and felony charges in West Michigan and northern Michigan. Mr. Springstead is one of the leading DUI attorneys in Michigan, but also defends a variety of serious felony charges including sex crimes (CSC), drug charges, murder charges and OWI causing serious physical injury or death.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Springstead was an FBI Special Agent for approximately five years, investigating and assisting in the prosecution of a broad range of federal crimes from sophisticated white collar crimes to violent crimes, terrorism and national security matters. This included investigating numerous high-profile cases in the United States and abroad.
He also served as a Special Assistant US Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan before becoming an FBI Agent.
