When I was a child, I watched my father go to work every day with a singular mission: defending the rights of people like you and me. He was deeply passionate about his work and instilled in me a powerful sense of the importance of protecting everyone’s rights.

My father always believed that the role of a criminal defense attorney is to hold the court accountable and ensure the law is upheld throughout the prosecution process. This conviction shaped my own view of the world, and I saw it in action every day—ultimately leading me to pursue a career in law.

In 2001, I had the privilege of joining my father in private practice. Together, we founded Ruane Attorneys, a small criminal defense firm in Bridgeport specializing primarily in DUI defense. Over the past two decades, we’ve grown steadily and continue to expand our reach and services.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of speaking at numerous legal conferences, contributing to both local and national law associations, and dedicating over 100 hours annually to advancing my knowledge and experience in criminal defense. I’ve also authored and co-authored several books on the subject.
