Mitchell Barraza

Mitchell Barraza serves as a contract attorney with Lamano Law Office, bringing with him valuable experience from his time as a Volunteer Attorney at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. There, he represented clients facing misdemeanor charges such as DUI, vandalism, firearm offenses, battery, and drug-related cases. Recognized by the National Trial Lawyers, Mr. Barraza has been honored as one of California’s Top 40 under 40 Criminal Defense Lawyers. A significant portion of his clients have been people of color, many of whom are Spanish-speaking, and he is dedicated to helping them overcome challenging periods in their lives. Driven by a strong sense of service, Mr. Barraza believes in treating clients with respect, recognizing that they are more than their legal situations, and he guides them through the criminal justice process with empathy and resolve.

Mr. Barraza earned his cum laude degree from UC Hastings, now known as UC College of the Law, San Francisco. During law school, he contributed to the Constitutional Law Quarterly, the oldest constitutional law journal on the West Coast, first as a staff editor and later as a production editor. His roles involved editing article content and overseeing final edits for publication. An enthusiastic writer, Mr. Barraza particularly enjoys crafting motions for criminal defense. Additionally, he gained practical experience working with entrepreneurs in the Startup Legal Garage Corporate clinic, helping to bring their business ideas to life. He was awarded the Cali Excellence for the Future Award in 2020 for his top performance in the subject of Remedies. Outside of his legal work, he enjoys playing tennis and diving into a good book.
