Richard E Oberdorfer

Rich Oberdorfer is one of the foremost experts on DUI law in the State of Oregon, respected by his peers for both his command of the law and his relentless advocacy for his clients. For over 20 years he has been specializing in DUI and related criminal defense, achieving outstanding results and cementing his reputation as not only a great lawyer, but also as a person of genuine kindness.

Growing up in a working-class community in rural Oregon and striving to earn his way through school have given Rich a well-grounded respect for the good people he represents and the challenges everyday people face. He graduated from University of Oregon before enrolling in Lewis and Clarke Law School, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors in 2001. After a stint at a busy Measure 11 public defense firm in Multnomah County he opened his own practice. Rich gravitated towards the defense of Driving Under the Influence and other vehicle-code crimes, where he quickly made his mark by consistently achieving stellar outcomes for his clients. Since then, he has been a frequent lecturer on DUI-related subjects, an advisory committee member, a mentor, and a municipal court judge.

In spring of 2024, Rich joined the preeminent DUI law firm in the pacific northwest – Reynolds Defense Firm – where he is thoroughly enjoying being part of a team of experts, working diligently every day for the good people they represent.

Throughout his career, Rich has achieved notable recognition, including the title of Rising Star in DUII defense by Oregon Super Lawyers from 2008 to 2012, and an Oregon Super Lawyer in 2023 and 2024. In 2024 Rich was chosen by the readers of Willamette Week as one of the top three lawyers in Portland – in any practice area.
