Roger’s work ethic was developed through sports and education. From a young age, Roger was involved in numerous activities. He played football, was a cub scout, and a junior firman. In junior high he was a member of the Lacrosse and Football teams. He began boxing, between 7th and 8th grade. In Highschool, Roger was a member of both the football and track teams. He continued boxing. After high school, he attended the University of Alabama and was a member of the Crimson Tide Football team. He later graduated from University Of Alabama at Birmingham. After football, while in Birmingham, he continued his boxing in local, regional and international competitions. Just prior to Law School, Roger, was offered an opportunity to travel internationally on the USA boxing team. Roger respectfully declined and went to law school at the University of Miami, School of Law. Upon graduating, he made one last effort at boxing and participated in the Eastern Olympic Trials in 2004. He lost 9-7 in his bout.
